I recently did a shoot to come up with the main photo poster for Music Fever’s upcoming charity concert raising funds for RSPCA – Playing for Paws. It was quite challenging persuading Mario, our model to lay his paws gracefully on the cello, but in the end we got a few good ones. The concert is on the 7th of August @ Roma St Parklands, Brisbane. During the next week or so, you’ll see the website blacked out once, with a message explaining what the mandatory internet filtering scheme the government is planning to introduce is all about. Filtering the internet is not only ludicrous, but also an expensive exercise paif for by you and me. Take action - sign a petition, email Senator Conroy, spread the word! As you might have noticed, the site was down around 9-14th October. This was due to an issue with the domain renewal (the server was never offline during this time, it was just inaccessible). Apologies for any inconveniences caused – we will ensure this doesn’t happen again! Our clients are often curious about the businesses that service Huego Studio so that we may better service you. If you are looking for any of the following services, these businesses come highly recommended: Graphic/web designStudio Skitz – A young but creative designer. All of our designed material is handled by Steven. Very promising! Pet clothingDoggiemon – Your local designer boutique for dog and puppy fasion. Pet services directoryThe Pet Directory – World’s largest online directory of pets, pet products and services. You can find veterinarians in your area, breeders and pet products of all kinds. Read educational articles written by vets and animal experts. View beautiful animal photos. If you prefer hard copies, they’re also available at newsagents. Ryan’s mum and dad had always wanted to have photos of their little baby boy to be professionally captured but didn’t know who to go to. So it was very fortunate that they saw Keira’s photos and we found each other. When we visited Karen and Steven for the pre-shoot interview, we were immediately attracted by their open and friendly personalities. They mentioned that since Ryan was growing and changing so quickly, they wanted to have the shoot ASAP, so we organised a session for the following Saturday. What is unique to baby and children portraits is their sleep pattern and concentration span. At his age, Ryan is only awake for less than 2 hours at a time, so we split the shooting into 2 sessions. We took the shoot outside for Ryan and Karen to warm up to the camera in the winter morning sun – it was also Ryan’s first time playing in their front garden! Although he was very excited, the sleepiness still caught up with him and he had to take his morning nap. While Ryan took his morning nap, we set up the mobile studio inside. We decided to make use of his favourite play mat as the setting. Once Ryan woke up, his parent quickly joined him on the set and we were able to capture some beautiful moments of their interactions. Ryan is so cute and adorable, loves to smile and is not at all shy with the camera. Karen and Steven are a really lovely couple and the warm, cosy and friendly environment they’ve created really made this a wonderful experience for us. We recently had the pleasure being part of Andy and Debbie’s wedding preparations. The reception was to be held at the Sangrila Chinese restaurant and it is customary to display a portrait of the groom and bride at the reception entrance for the guests to admire. As all of our wedding packages include a complimentary pre-wedding shoot that allows us to get to know each other, this was also the perfect opportunity to get the shot for the wedding reception. Pre-wedding portraitsOn the day of the portrait shoot, we chose to take a casual walk through Brisbane CBD on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. First stop was the St Stevens Cathedral, and then we strolled along Eagle St Pier to Customs House. We captured manygreat shots that day but it was this one that stood out (and was framed for display at the reception): The wedding dayOn the big day, Taiwanese traditions were observed – involving the groom delivering her dress to her on the wedding day (he waits outside while she gets changed into the dress), with a short but sweet tea ceremony and for the groom and bride to thank her parents for raising her. Andy waits in anticipation while Debbie is dressed. As Debbie leaves home, she throws a fan out of the car window to, a gesture to say goodbye to her family. On arrival at Andy’s house (and Debbie’s new home), she is greeted by Andy’s sister carrying mandarins. They proceed to their bedroom where tea is served. We then all headed to the city for a simple yet cosy and elegant ceremony. At the ceremony, Andy was so eager that he went to kiss Debbie without lifting her veil! The receptionReception was held at the Sangrila Chinese restaurant in Sunnybank. The venue was decorated with a warm, cosy and relaxed feel. We’ve got a new advertising campaign up and running, the advertisement was designed by Studio Skitz (once again). We’ve placed the advertisement in the high-end Sanctuary Cove lifestyle magazine – The Cove in time for the 2009 International Boat Show. Published in The Cove magazine’s May/June edition. Welcome to the new face of Huego Studio, beautifully designed by Studio Skitz. In addition to information about our business in Celebration Photography, we intend to provide you with a range of photography education material to empower you to capture those magical moments when you want to. Stay tuned! |
